Indigo Ridge is the first book in a brand new series by Devney Perry. It takes place in Quincy Montana and is about the oldest of the Eden clan Griffin and new new chief of Police Winslow "Winn" Covington.
Winn has just gotten into town, starting life over after ending an 8 year relationship. She is the new chief of police and has no time for the complications that comes with romance. Griffin has enough on his plate with his ranch and family and has no time in his life for the commitment starting a fling with someone from town would bring. After some miscommunications the two end up having a one night stand just to find that they are both residents of the same small town. They decide that that night was a mistake and they would pretend that nothing had happened between them. Unfortunately, when a girl shows up on the ridge dead and not the first one over the years at that, they are forced in proximity and realize really fast that one night was not enough.
I love that this book had a female character that was so likeable, had a backbone and would not take anything from anyone, she is so strong getting though all of her past and knowing she is still working on herself to make a better future. A man who once he opened up was so caring and protective and would do anything for the people who he loves. The side characters were just as apart of this story as the main characters and I loved that. This book had mystery that even if you think you know what's going on, you really don't. You will be on your toes and it will be worth it.
This book leaves you NEEDING the next book. And I am going to recommend it to everyone I know. I honestly cannot wait to see what happens with this series.
