Lie for a Lie by Helena Hunting

So this is my first book by Helena Hunting and all I can say is OMG I AM HOOKED!!!! I had a list of other books I wanted to read before her next book and I just can't wait and am going right in.

Lie for a Lie is about an NHL player Rook (Rj) and Lainey. They met on a trip to Alaska Rj for relaxation away from his normal life and Lainey for research. They instantly hit it off and spend weeks together before a family emergency has Rj leave early. Something like that wouldn't really be an issue except Rj lied about who he is because Lainey was one of the very few people in his life he could just be himself around and he didn't want to ruin it by letting her know about what he did for a living. without exchanging numbers in a rush to get home to his family, power lines going out, and just a bunch other factors they had lost touch.

A year later, Rj and Lainey both end up at the same birthday party and get back in touch. Rj is so excited and determined to make everything right with Lainey. Lainey on the other hand is not happy with Rj, and as time goes on her secret turns into a lie as well.

You guys... This book was amazing and if you need a good swoon this is the book to go too. I promise you will not be disappointed. I lost so much sleep because I could not put it down. The writing was great, the characters were great, and I cannot wait to hear what Rj and Lainey are up too in the next book.

“We made it back to each other, that’s all that matters now.”
