Perfect Wreckage is book number 2 in the wrecked series. This book is about Kenna and Crosby. We met both of these characters and loved their banter in book number 1, and by the end of fit I could not wait to find out what happens to these two. Some events from Kenna's past has made her put up armor and play everything safe. From her love life to her job and everything in between, the only people she really lets in are the people who have always been there for her; her friends Bell and Caelyn as well as the women who has been like a mother to her Harriet. Crosby lives for adventure and from the outside looks to not take life seriously Kenna sees him as a slacker and nothing but trouble. He knows how to push her buttons and loves it when he gets her to let her guard down and snap back at him.
Harriet had passed away leaving Kenna depressed and feeling alone. She shuts down completely. During the will reading she finds out she is giving an inheritance that is worth millions of dollars. Unfortunately, some of Harriet's family that has not been there for her, who are not good people, are money hungry, and have played a huge role into why Kenna is the way she us are not happy about it and are doing everything in their power to change the Will and make Kennas life miserable. Crosby was Harriets lawyer and is now working with Kenna to make sure everything is exactly like Harriet wanted it.
Crosby has been burned in the past and has no intentions on forever and being weighed down again, He also seems to be the only person who can make Kenna feel anything but numb. Kenna learns how big Crosbys heart is and her view on him was wrong. Crosby learns not all women are out to change him and can love him for who he is.
This book is everything I love about Catherine's books, a story line that is not just love but has people with real problems and you watch the couple learn to grow to care for each other while life happens with the suspense that is addicting and leaves you sleep deprived because you just have to know what happens next . I love that there is awareness for foster care and the struggles most of those children have had to endure in their young lives. I would highly recommend this book, and if I am being honest I am probably going to try to make everyone I know try to read this. I would recommend reading the first book in this series (Reckless Memories) first so you can really enjoy these two as well as the supporting characters.
“One day, this woman would see herself as I did. Strong because she’d been broken. Loving because she’d been hurt. Perfect in all of her imperfections.”
