This book picked up right where Gypsy King had left off. So many questions from the last book have been answered. Like, what happened in that cabin as well as who had killed Amina. Isaiah and Genevieve have a secret that they share and get married to each other so they will never be forced to share it. They had gotten married without knowing each other and through out the book had gone from strangers to best friends to lovers. All the while pretending to be in love the entire time they were outside of their home. It was a slow process of them falling in love for real, but it was such an amazing journey watching them fall. Things had happened in Isaiah's past where he thought he was not worthy of being happy let alone of love. Genevieve is trying to find her mothers murderer while also getting to know a dad she didn't know she had and a brother who wants nothing to do with her. I am not going to lie, I was super mad at Dash during this book. Yes, he had a right to be angry about the situation he was now in, but at the same time Genevieve had done nothing wrong and was just as much a victim of circumstance as he was. His anger was very misplaced. This book was a nail biter most of the way. Every time I thought I had something figured out I was completely wrong. It was great to have a book where it kept you guessing until the very end. It was amazing watching Isaiah develop from Tragic to this book and watch him grow, face some fears, and finally learn to believe that he does deserve to be happy. This book is worth the read, I loved it so much. You do want to make sure you read book 1 in this series Gypsy King first though.
"Isaiah and his simple gestures. He took the quiet moments, the ones most overlooked, and made the most of them."
